Grammy-nominated American rapper and singer Austin Richard Post popularly known as Post Malone is set to perform in Guwahati on December 8, marking one of the state’s first major international concerts under a new initiative aimed at boosting Assam’s concert economy.

Who is Post Malone?

Born on July 4, 1995, in Syracuse, New York, Post Malone is popularly known for blending genres like hip-hop, pop, rock, and country.

Raised in Grapevine, Texas, he was introduced to a diverse range of music genres by his father, a former DJ.

He began his musical journey in a heavy metal band before becoming a rapper, eventually experimenting with FL Studio to produce his own music.

At just 16, Post Malone used Audacity to create his first mixtape, Young and After Them Riches, which he shared with classmates at Grapevine High School. As a senior, he was voted “Most Likely to Become Famous” by his classmates. During his teenage years, he also worked at a Chicken Express outlet.

He gained initial fame with his 2015 debut single “White Iverson,” which led to a contract with Republic Records and the release of his first album, Stoney.

In 2016, Post premiered his new single, “Go Flex” on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show. Later, he made his national television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, performing “Go Flex”.

His subsequent albums, including Beerbongs & Bentleys and Hollywood’s Bleeding, produced chart-topping hits like “Rockstar,” “Circles,” and “Sunflower.”

In 2024, he ventured into country music with his album F-1 Trillion, featuring collaborations with artists like Morgan Wallen and Dolly Parton.

Post Malone has won multiple awards, including 11 Billboard Music Awards, 3 American Music Awards, and 6 MTV Video Music Awards. He has also been nominated for a significant number of Grammy Awards, totaling 18.
