Assam’s Top Civilian Awards 2024: Lt Gen (Retd) Rana Pratap Kalita Honored with Assam Baibhav, 19 Others Recognized for Their Contributions

The second civilian award, the Assam Saurav, has been conferred on 6 recipients

The Assam government today conferred its highest civilian awards for 2024-Assam Baibhav, Assam Saurav, and Assam Gaurav on 20 distinguished individuals for their outstanding contributions to society in various fields.

Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya presented the awards in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at a ceremony held at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra.

Former GOC-in-C Eastern Command Lt General (Retired) Rana Pratap Kalita was conferred with Assam’s highest civilian award- Assam Baibhav.

The second civilian award, the Assam Saurav, has been conferred on 6 recipients:

✅ Subramanian Ramadorai, a former CEO and MD of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) from Tamil Nadu for his contribution to the IT industry and skill development in India.

✅ Dr. Bappi Pal of Hojai and Dr. Purabi Saikia of Lakhimpur for their contributions to the field of Science & Tech (Environmental Science).

✅ An acclaimed playback singer, Dwipen Baruah of Kamrup (Metro) for his contribution in the field of Art & Culture.

✅ Mobile theatre dramatist, Hemanta Dutta of Darrang for his contribution in the field of Art & Culture (Dramatist).

✅ Cricketer Uma Chetry of Golaghat for her contribution in the field of sports.

The third highest civilian award, Assam Gaurav, has been conferred on 13 awardees:

✅ Phuleswari Dutta – Lakhimpur
✅ Meenakshi Das – Kamrup
✅ Parthib Sundar Gogoi – Sivasagar
✅ Dhirendra Nath Pal – Dhubri
✅ Haridas Das – Barpeta
✅ Binong Teron – Karbi Anglong
✅ Nazrul Haque – Sribhumi
✅ Biswajit Bora – Jorhat
✅ Bharat Kalita – Bajali
✅ Barlangfa Narzary – Kokrajhar
✅ Ram Sashoni – Dibrugarh
✅ Upamanyu Borkakoty – Sivasagar
✅ David Pratim Gogoi – Kamrup

The Assam Baibhav, Assam Saurav, and Assam Gaurav are the highest civilian awards conferred by the Assam government every year to people who have made contributions to society through their expertise and dedicated service in their respective fields.
