Assam Man’s Body Found Near Lekhi Bridge in Borum, Arunachal

A body was discovered on Tuesday afternoon near the riverside close to Lekhi Bridge in Borum, under the jurisdiction of Papu Hills Police Station, prompting an investigation by local authorities.
According to police sources, the information was received at around 2:00 PM.

During the inquest, an election card was recovered from the deceased’s possession, identifying him as Nikhil Biswas (75), son of Late Jogesh Biswas, a resident of Dalimabari village under Raha Police Station, Nagaon district, Assam.

The body was subsequently shifted to Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun for medico-legal procedures, and the autopsy report is awaited to ascertain the exact cause of death.

A case of unnatural death has been registered at Papu Hills Police Station.

In the latest statement, a police official from Papu Hills said, “The police in Assam have been contacted and, by now, they must be looking for the deceased’s kins and family members.”

Authorities are currently working in coordination with Assam police to trace the next of kin. Further details will be shared once the post-mortem report is available and the family is located.
