Nabam comfortably clinched the Second International Championship Belt by defeating Karl from Australia

In an intense battle of skills, Muay Thai professional fighter Nabam Abraham (Tei) from Arunachal Pradesh faced off against Karl from Australia in the International Championship Match held in November 16 at Singpatong Stadium, Phuket, Thailand.

Nabam comfortably clinched the Second International Championship Belt by defeating Karl.

This win showcases Nabam’s prowess in the ring.

Hailing from Gumto Village in Papumpare, Arunachal Pradesh, his victory adds another feather to India’s representation on the global martial arts stage.

Muay Thai is a combat sport that combines elements of martial arts and boxing.

Known as the art of eight limbs, it’s more exciting than boxing in a conventional way. Due to the intense training required to compete in this sport, the combatants are typically quite thin.

Since it includes lethal kicks and the simultaneous use of elbows, knees, shins, and so on, it is often referred to as the “art of eight limbs.”

The sport was founded in the 18th century, but it was only in the 20th century that it was recognised as a modern sport.

The sport is a cross between Muay tharon and Kabi kabong.
