Ladakh BJP MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, who is in the frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh to drum up support for BJP candidates ahead of the Assembly and parliamentary elections in the state, travelled to Gelling the last Indian village along the India-China border that is being developed as the ‘First Village’, a term coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was pleasantly surprised to see the development in the village under the Vibrant Village initiative of PM Modi.

What impressed Ladakh MP Namgyal was the connectivity to Gelling, be it through roads, mobile connectivity or even air connectivity. In fact, Namgyal will also be submitting a report to the BJP central leadership on the progress made so far in terms of welfare and development in Gelling.

Namgyal posted a video on Facebook where he can be seen describing Gelling and its importance as well as the government’s intention to ensure that such places of strategic importance scale heights of development.

In the video Namgyal said, “Presently I am at a border area in Arunachal Pradesh, we traversed through the entire state, then reach Tuting sub-division, before finally reaching this Gelling Basti (village). The mountain behind me separates India and Tibet (presently under China’s occupation). This is a border village. While campaigning for the elections I had the opportunity to meet the people of Gelling, could discuss the issue of development with them. The residents here are of the Monpa tribe who follow Buddhism-Mahayana Buddhism which is also there in Ladakh.”

Lauding Prime Minister Modi, the Ladakh MP said, “Regarding the development of this village I want to say that a lot more efforts are required for its further progress. Because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi we could reach here from Tuting by road, black topped roads have reached here (Gelling village). The link roads constructed within the village, the mobile tower that you see behind me, this is a full fledged 4G mobile tower. There is a helipad here too, so that patients can be airlifted from here. While speaking to the people, they told that more attention need to be given regarding the health sector, education, ration supply.

But from my overall experience in Gelling, I want to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi because now has termed the last villages in India as the First Villages of the nation. So Gelling is the first village, after that comes Nurbudling, Kopu, Tuting, and all these villages are included in the Vibrant Village program, there are high chances that such areas will witness massive transformation welfare.”

“We are reaching out to the people (in Gelling) by letting them know about PM Modi’s aspiration of making everything available, be it education, health, job among others, here itself so that they do not have to move to places like Itanagar. After visiting such villages we have to submit a report to Prime Minister Modi, HM Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda. We actually hope that this Gelling village will progress a lot under PM Modi’s vision and leadership in the days to come. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat,”Namgyal concluded.
