APWWS president Kani Nada Maling said legislator Ering sould have attended the session today so that the matter could be brought for discussion even if it was not passed.

The Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society has expressed disappointment over the absence of Congress legislator Ninong Ering on the last Day of the legislative assembly session today.

Ering had earlier stated that he would place the Arunachal Pradesh Monogamy Election Eligibility Bill, 2023 on the 3rd day of the legislative assembly. However, Ering did not turn up today.

The APWWS who had extended their full support in favor of the Arunachal Monogamy Election Eligibility Bill, were furious and disappointed to see the absence of legislator Ninong Ering.

APWWS president Kani Nada Maling said legislator Ering sould have attended the session today so that the matter could be brought for discussion even if it was not passed.

“We earlier appreciated the MLA Ninong Ering for introducing the Arunachal Pradesh Monogamy Election Eligibility Bill, 2023 and we have sent an appreciation letter as well”, Maling said.

“We have been waiting since morning, leaving all our work to support the bill. Unfortunately, MLA didn’t come to assembly. We totally condemn such an act”, Maling further stated.

“This bill has the potential to protect the rights and dignity of women in our society, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their concerns are addressed. However, Monogamy bill is a significant step towards ensuring that our electoral system reflects the values of integrity and justice, but unfortunately they didn’t even discuss about this bill”, Maling said.

Reportedly MLA Ering went to attend the funeral service of Former Chief Minister, Nabam Tuki’s mother.
