Arunachal Dy CM Chowna Mein, Manipur CM Singh lauds Assam-Arunachal border pact

Dy CM Chowna Mein said that the pact signing is an example of how the state governments led by BJP can come together to work for development
A day after the historic Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border dispute resolution pact was signed in New Delhi, congratulatory messages are pouring in.
Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Chowna Mein and Manipur CM N Biren Singh appreciated the historic MoU signed by Assam and Arunachal Governments to amicably settle the 70 decades old border issue between the two states.
Minister Chowna Mein lauded the BJP governments in the states under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the pact signing itself is a remarkable example of how the state governments led by BJP can come together to work for development, showing the governments resolute and willpower.
Minister Chowna Mein took to Twitter and congratulated Assam Chief Ministers Himanta Biswa Sarma and Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khnadu on signing the historic pact.
“I congratulate HCMs, Shri @HimantaBiswa ji & Shri @PemaKhanduBJP ji for amicably settling the long-pending border issue between 2 States out of the court. It is a great example of how we can come together to work for development, showing the resolute & willpower of the BJP govt,” Minister Chowna Mein tweeted.
He also said, “The signing of the agreement between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will ensure the peaceful coexistence of both States. This agreement will help foster mutual understanding and collaboration between the two States, allowing for better economic development and social progress.”
On the other hand, Manipur CM N Biren Singh appreciated the historic moment of Assam and Arunachal governments signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to resolve the border issue and said that it has contributed to greater peace in the Northeast.

@narendramodi ji and Shri @AmitShah ji due to the signing of Agreement for the settlement of the long pending inter state boundary between Assam n Arunachal,” CM Biren Singh tweeted.
The MoU signed in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Law Minister Kiren Rijiju in Delhi, aims to resolve border disputes in 123 villages in 12 districts of Arunachal Pradesh and 8 districts of Assam.
These villages lie along the roughly 800-km shared boundary of the two states.
According to the MoU, the state governments agreed that no new claim area or village will be added in future beyond these 123 villages. It also stated that both governments “agree to effectively prevent any new encroachment in the border areas”, and agreed that the MoU is “full and final” in respect to the 123 villages.
