NE CMs, leaders welcome SC’s verdict upholding decision to abolish Article 370

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu and other politucal leaders from Northeaster on Monday welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict upholding the decision to abolish Article 370 of the Constitution which gave a special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s efforts in driving the successful abrogation of Article 370 under PM Modi’s decisive leadership and fulfilling the dream of every ‘Bharatiya’ (Indian).
CM Sarma also urged all sections of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh society to unite in fulfilling PM Modi’s vision of progress and prosperity in the region.
“The Supreme Court judgement on Article 370 cements the long held unifying principle of Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat. This verdict has put to rest mischievous propaganda and disinformation since last 3 years. It is my earnest appeal that all sections of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh society to unite in fulfilling Hon’ble PM’s vision of progress and prosperity in the region. My compliments to Hon’ble HM for his monumental effort in driving the successful abrogation of Art 370 under Hon PM’s decisive leadership and fulfilling the dream of every Bharatiya,” CM Sarma wrote on X.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that SC’s judgment will serve as a beacon of hope for building a promising future for those who suffered due to Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
He also urged everyone to join hands to build ‘Naya Jammu Kashmir’.
“I heartily welcome Supreme Court’s verdict on abrogation of Article 370.The historic decision to abrogate Article 370 on August 5, 2019, under the dynamic leadership of Hon PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, has paved the way for peace and development in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The region has witnessed a drastic decline in militancy and a new wave of positivity since 2019.There is now a new era of growth & opportunities in the region, with the rights of resilient people being protected.This judgment will serve as a beacon of hope for building a promising future for those who suffered due to Article 370.Let us join hands to build #NayaJammuKashmir,” CM Pema Khandu wrote on X.
Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein also welcomed the SC’s verdict and said that the decision is a positive step toward integrating Jammu and Kashmir into the mainstream of country’s governance and will contribute to the overall development of the region.
“I wholeheartedly welcome the landmark decision by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India to uphold the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. It is a historic verdict, the Supreme Court has affirmed the government’s decision to abrogate Article 370, marking a significant milestone in the Nation’s legal and political landscape. The decision is a positive step toward integrating Jammu and Kashmir into the mainstream of country’s governance and will contribute to the overall development of the region,” Chowna Mein wrote on X.
Union Minister of Earth Sciences and BJP MP from Arunachal Pradesh, Kiren Rijiu also took to X and wrote, “After Supreme Court Judgment, I will play Rhythm of #NayaJammuKashmir Hon’ble PM @narendramodi ji’s vision has paved the way for unprecedented progress in J & K and Ladakh with the abrogation of article 370 permanently.”
Assam Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika stated that the historic decision only shows PM Modi and HM Amit Shah’s dedication and firm actions to restore normality and ensure the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir, which was previously the most violent state in the country.
“A historic day for India! The honorable Supreme Court’s judgment on abrogating #Article370 only signifies PM Shri @narendramodi’s and HM Shri @AmitShah’s sincere efforts and stern actions to bring back normalcy and ensure holistic development of once most violence-hit state, Jammu & Kashmir,” Minister Pijush Hazarika wrote on X.
