Assam: One more arrested in land forgery scam in Guwahati

In the ongoing investigation into the Guwahati land scam, the Assam Police’s cyber cell has recently apprehended Juri Sharma, a junior assistant at the sub-registrar office in Panikhaiti.
The police have now detained a total of 14 individuals were detained in connection with the land scam, with Juri Sharma being added to the list.
Earlier, Ramen Modahi was identified as the kingpin behind the land-grabbing scam in Guwahati. Modahi was shot in the right leg by the police during an attempt to escape on the night of November 26. Currently, he is receiving medical treatment at GMCH under tight police security.
Earlier on November 24, Guwahati Police Commissioner Diganta Barah disclosed that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had been briefed about the alarming situation surrounding the land grab, prompting a collaborative investigation by the district revenue administration and the police.
