The BJP is expecting to win minimum 3-5 states.
The BJP in Mizoram is expecting to increase its tally in the 2023 assembly elections from the 1 seat that it won in 2018. In fact the party is expecting the number to increase to 5 and even more.
Mizoram BJP president Vanlalhmuaka, who himself is in the fray from the Dampa ST constituency spoke exclusively to Northeast Live amid the counting of votes.
Vanlalhmuaka said, “This time BJP’s number will increase and as I said BJP will part of the government this time. We will also increase our vote share, our seat share, we are expecting 3-5 seats this time, it may be more than 5 also, let’s see.
We are expecting minimum 3, it may happen more than 5 also, let’s wait for the results because in other states also we are doing very well, in our state also we are expecting the same. The results may follow the same suit here in Mizoram.”
Earlier, reports had been doing rounds that the ZPM has got into an understanding with the BJP for forming the next government. However, this was denied by the ZPM leadership.
However, the Mizoram’s statement that the party will be a part of the government definitely assumes significance.
