Nazeem Pulikkal, Phurba Tamang emerge winners in Guwahati Half Marathon

Differently-abled people also participated in the 5 KM run which showed their grit and determination

Nazeem Pulikkal and Phurba Tamang emerged winners in the Coal India Guwahati Half Marathon 2023 conducted at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati today.

Nazeem Pulikkal was the winner in the half marathon male category with a timing of 1 hour 10 minutes and 9 seconds and Phurba Tamang was the winner in female category with a timing of 1 hour 35 minutes.
With a motto of ‘Amar Run, Amar Utsav’ the event kicked-off with more than 5000 runners participating in the 21 KM, 10 KM and 5 Km categories under various age groups. Differently-abled people also participated in the 5 KM run which showed their grit and determination. Over 800 women and girls participated in the event in various categories.

Speaking at the event Sports Minister Nandita Garlosa congratulated the participants and organisers for making the event a success. She expressed her gratitude to the Indian Army for taking the initiative and conducting an event of such a magnitude in Guwahati and appreciated the strides made towards Civil Military Integration in Assam.

Coal India Guwahati Half Marathon is supported by the Indian Army and Government of Assam, is promoted by Procam International and executed by Sportiz.
