Dalai Lama to visit Sikkim from Dec 11 to 14

Sikkim Chief Secretary had convened a meeting at 10:30 AM today at Teesta Lounge of Tashiling Secretariat

The Government of Sikkim’s Home Department on Monday announced the dates for the scheduled visit of spiritual leader Dalai Lama to the state.

The spiritual leader is scheduled to visit the state from the December 11 to 14, 2023. This is as per a notification from the office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamshala.

In this regard, Sikkim Chief Secretary had convened a meeting at 10:30 AM today.

It may be mentioned that the Dalai Lama’s visit to Sikkim was deferred twice earlier. Once because of the Glacial Lake Outburst Flood that hit Sikkim on October 4 leaving a huge trail of destruction and devastation and the second time when the Dalai Lama was down with the flu.

Dalai Lama had donated Rs 10 lakh for the aid of the victims of the glacial lake outburst.
