Guwahati Commissioner of Police Diganta Barah visited the spot and informed that probe has already begun into the matter

Suspense and sensation prevails at the MLA hostel in Guwahati, one of the most high security zones in the city, after a suspected bullet hole was traced in a glass window on the first floor of C block of the hostel.
Guwahati Police Commissioner Diganta Barah, after arriving at the MLA hostel took a look at the suspected bullet hole personally for a better understanding of the case. Police suspect that the hole was made by a sharp object. Forensic experts will be on ground today to probe the matter.
CP Diganta Barah said, “The hole may have been caused by a bullet or other sharp object. The hole is big. In general case the pellet hole is not so big. In our preliminary investigation we have learnt that whatever made the hole had passed through the window from inside the building, it did not pierce through from outside. We are looking into as to how the hole could happen, what had passed through the window, origin and other aspects. We cannot term it as a fallout of security lapse.”
A sense of apprehension seems to have gripped the minds of at least 6 MLAs who are the residents of the C Block, including Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Debabrata Saikia.
Speaking to the media, Saikia said, “Initially I did not bother much, but when I shared the photo with my friends, they suggested me not to take the matter lightly. I saw a similarity between the hole in the window and images that I came across when I was searching the internet for bullet marks in glass. This is my assumption, that it might be a bullet mark, but everything will be clear after probe.”
