Manipur: Protest against alleged abduction of 2 teenagers

The two teenagers had reportedly gone to Sekmai area in Imphal West on a two-wheeler before they went missing.
Normal life was affected in the valley districts of Manipur due to the 36 hour bandh call by the Joint Action Committee in protest against alleged abduction of 2 teenagers hailing from Imphal West’s Langjing at Kangpokpi on November 5th.
The two had gone to Sekmai area in Imphal West on a two-wheeler before they went missing.
The bandh was supported by various organisations demanding the safe release of the 2 teenagers.
Bandh affected normal life in Thoubal, Bishnupur, Imphal East, Imphal West, Kakching and Jiribam. Shops, Markets, Offices, Banks were closed during the bandh. Movement of vehicles was also restricted by bandh supporters.
Earlier, this morning Chief Minister N Biren Singh chaired a meeting with top officials of Assam Rifles, Manipur Police as well as other security agencies to discuss on the evolving law and order situation in the state.
