Working closely with Centre to end crisis: Manipur CM N Biren Singh

CM N Biren Singh sought cooperation of the people in resolving the crisis and bring permanent peace
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh today reiterated that his government is closely working with the Centre to bring permanent peace after violence erupted since May 3. The Manipur Chief Minister said this while laying the foundation for a number of welfare projects in Kakching district.
According to the Chief Minister, the crisis evolved out of the government’s efforts to save the forest cover as well as its decision to wage a war against drugs and poppy cultivation. N Biren Singh said the situation was also an outcome of actions initiated by his government against the illegal migrants.
Not only this, in what seemed to be a message of caution, Chief Minister N Biren Singh urged people to help in resolving the issue, and not to pay heed to politicians who try to make gain through this turmoil. The Chief Minister also assured to complete construction of the pre-fabricated houses within the stipulated time and hand them over to displaced people.
During his visit to Kakching today, N Biren Singh laid foundation for 2 key projects- a football stadium and improvement of road connectivity from Keirak to Wabagai Tera Urak and Wabagai Tera Urak to Turel Mamai. The cost of the projects is around Rs 14 crore.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh in a post on X said, “Delighted to lay foundation stones of Development Projects at Keirak, Kakching District.
The foundation stones for two vital projects, the Construction of a Football Stadium with Natural Grass and the Improvement of the road from Keirak to Wabagai Tera Urak and Wabagai Tera Urak to Turel Mamai, with a total cost of Rs 13.5 Crores will contribute significantly to the progress and development of our state. These projects are not just about infrastructure; they are about empowering our people, providing them with opportunities, and nurturing their talents.”
Besides, Chief Minister N Biren Singh also reached out to people living in displaced camps by handing them over various benefits given by the government.
