In a distressing turn of events driven by a desire for money, a father has sold his 13-year-old son to an individual from Arunachal Pradesh for a sum of Rs 35000.
When the locals came to know about this, they immediately handed over Dipjyoti Gogoi (known to be the father) hailing from Dhakuakhana in Assam to Dhilmara police. In this regard, Dipjyoti’s wife has also filed a case in the police station. The police have started their investigation to recover the child.
Dipjyoti’s mother said, “I had no idea my son would resort to such actions. I requested him to bring his son back”.
Dipjyoti’s wife expressed her disappointment, saying, “I repeatedly told him that if he was facing difficulties because of me and our child, he could leave us. However, selling our child was never an acceptable solution. I never thought he would go that far.”
