APPSC scam: Govt always ready for talks, says CM Khandu after PAJSC warns stir from Sept 26

"We too hope for a logical conclusion as soon as possible,” Chief Minister Khandu said.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has reiterated that his government is ready to hold talks with any stakeholder who have been raising their voice against the paper leak scam in the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
Affirming that everything needful is being done to book those guilty, Chief Minister Khandu expressed concern over the fact that few individuals were still in the mode of agitation against his government.
“We terminated the accused, called in CBI, called in ED (Enforcement Directorate), got a designated court to fast track the case, we have done everything possible. Investigations are not under our control. It is going on. We too hope for a logical conclusion as soon as possible,” Chief Minister Khandu said.
The Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s statement on the APPSC issue comes in the backdrop of the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC), deciding to go on a 7-day sit-in protest at the Tennis Court in Itanagar from September 26 to October 2.
The Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister assured that the government will soon form the new Commission once the issue of appointment of Chairman and Members gets cleared in the court.
In this context, Pema Khandu stated, “Aspirants to various posts have been preparing for more than a year. Hundreds of posts are lying vacant. We cannot deny them their chance. The issue of appointment of members and chairman right now is subjudice. As soon as the court gives a positive verdict, we will constitute the commission, which as an autonomous body, will go ahead with the recruitment processes.”
The Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC), has decided to go for the 7-day protest as none of the 13-point charter of demands have been addressed and fulfilled by the state government over the past year since the revelation of the paper leakage scam by Late Gyamar Padang on August 28, 2022.
