Meghalaya’s Education Minister, Rakkam A Sangma, has responded to concerns regarding exorbitant fees charged by various educational institutions in the state. He highlighted the government’s assistance to many colleges in the state, particularly those following the deficit pattern. Over the past two years, the education department has sanctioned more than 509 teaching and non-teaching posts across 20 colleges in the state.
