Schools in Assam to live stream Chandrayaan-3 landing on Moon

The Government of Assam has directed all schools in the state to remain open till 6 pm tomorrow
To ensure that students do not miss out on the opportunity to witness history being created with the landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon, the Government of Assam has directed all schools in the state to remain open till 6 pm tomorrow and to organize “special assemblies” between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM for the live streaming of the Chandrayaan-3 landing for students.
This order was issued by the Axom Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission (SSA).
Additional Secretary of the Department of School Education, Assam, Prajnya Saharia also took to X and urged all the schools to follow the order.
SSA in its letter said, “This to inform that India’s pursuit of space exploration which reaches a remarkable milestone with the impending Chandrayaan-3 Mission, which is poised to achieve a soft landing on the lunar surface. This eagerly anticipated event will be broadcasted live on August 23, 2023 starting from 5.20 pm. The live coverage will be available via multiple platforms, including the ISRO website (https://www.isro.gov.in/), ISRO’s YouTube Channel and DD National TV Channel. All schools and educational institutions across the state are requested to open the school until 6pm and organize the LIVE streaming of the Chandrayaan-3 soft landing within the premises.”
SSA requested the schools to invite students from nearby schools to there where the live streaming will take place, which will help to build a climate of scientific inquiry and creativity among students and staff.
In less than 100 hours, the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO’s) ambitious mission ‘Chandrayaan 3’ will make its first attempt to land on Moon’s south polar region.
India will create history if the ‘Chandrayaan 3’, lands softly and successfully on the Moon.
The spacecraft will land on the moon on August 23, 2023, at 18:04 IST (6:04 PM).
Chandrayaan 3 moon landing will be live-streamed on ISRO’s official website, social media handles, YouTube, and on television.
The live streaming will start at around 17:27 IST (5:27 PM).
