Manipur: Security forces conduct successful operations, recover arms, ammo and explosives

A total of 12 arms, 6 ammunition, and 8 explosives were recovered

In a series of coordinated search operations carried out by Manipur Police and Central Security forces, a significant cache of illicit arms, ammunition, and explosives was successfully recovered from various districts of Manipur such as Imphal-West, Imphal-East, Thoubal, Bishnupur, and Churachandpur districts on August 13.

The operation, conducted over the past week, yielded a total of 12 arms, 6 ammunitions, and 8 explosives, marking a breakthrough in the efforts to ensure peace and security in the region.

“Security Forces recovered Explosives, Arms and Ammunition: Search operations were conducted in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Imphal-West, Imphal-East, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts by the State Police and Central Security forces and recovered 12 (twelve) arms, 06 (six) ammunitions and 08 (eight) explosives”, tweets Manipur Police.

Earlier on August 12, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh informed that peace is being restored gradually. Not only this, the Manipur Chief Minister once again batted for peace and hoped that talks would resolve the issues.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh also spoke on his government’s plans as far as the displaced persons are concerned.

The Manipur Chief Minister assured that the government will start construction of permanent residences for the victims both in the Hills and Valley.

The CM also urged upon every stakeholder to take part in talks as he believes that deliberations will help resolve the issues.
