I was advised not to speak in Lok Sabha on Manipur issue: Manipur MP Lorho S. Pfoze

The MP also asserted that he was not allotted time to speak and none of those questions were picked up in the parliament
Amid the opposition parties questioning Manipur MP’s silence on Manipur issue in the parliament, Lorho S. Pfoze, Outer Manipur MP, and Naga People’s Front (NPF) leader Lorho S. Pfoze claimed that he was advised by fellow NDA MPs, particularly the BJP, not to speak on Manipur issue as Union Home Minister Amit Shah was speaking on the matter.
“Many of the friends from the BJP themselves have advised not to speak because the party’s view was that the Home Minister was speaking on the Manipur issue, so they didn’t want any independent views coming from the ruling side, which was unfortunate,” MP Lorho told Northeast Live.
The MP asserted that he had asked for time to put forward a number of questions on the issues concerning Manipur to the Ministry of Home Affairs, however, he added that no time was allocated, and none of those questions were picked up.
The Naga People’s Front is a coalition partner of N. Biren Singh government in Manipur.
Pfoze’s reaction comes at a time when the opposition Congress in Manipur is questioning the silence of the state MPs in the Lok Sabha.
Further speaking on the steps taken by the government, MP Lorho said, “The demand from the government authorities in the government is that they should take quick action against whoever is responsible, and the government must take stern steps.
However, MP Lorho expressed that the government doesn’t seem to be interested in “imposition of president’s rule or change of leadership.”
Earlier, in a big allegation, Mizoram’s lone Lok Sabha MP from Mizo National Front, C. Lalrosanga, who fought a lot to raise the Manipur issue in Parliament, said that suddenly many NDA MPs stopped talking to him and refused to shake hands with him, making him feel like an “untouchable”.
