The old man, who was found in a severely wounded condition, was rushed to the local hospital for treatment by neighbours

It is just yesterday we reported about a son inflicting inhuman torture on his mother by tying her to a pole and also allegedly pouring hot water on her though the father has denied all allegations against his son. Today, just a day later, another heart-wrenching incident of a son torturing his 80-year-old father, keeping him in a cowshed and beating him up has come to the fore.

Yesterday’s incident was reported from Guwahati and today’s incident has been reported from Hajo in lower Assam, about 30 kms from Guwahati.

In today’s incident, it has been alleged that the son identified as Suresh Das, an Assam Police personnel, has been beating up his old bed-ridden father and kept him in a cowshed for years.

Unable to bear the disdainful atrocities, locals came out in numbers to rescue the old man from the clutches of the cruel son.

The elderly man was found in a severely wounded condition and was rushed to the local hospital for treatment.

“Das did not allow his sisters to enter the residence. They were taking shelter in a neighbour’s home. He abuses and even beats his sisters. He never permitted visitors to his home who came to see his father. He chastised them”, locals said.

“When I went to see my father he beat me right in front of my in-laws. My father, at this age, asked for water, but there is no one who can provide it. We are not permitted to visit him,” the old man’s daughter said.

Following the incident, demands have been raised for immediate action against the accused.
