Three Rohingya women along with 2 children arrested in Tripura

Three Rohingya women who illegally entered India through Tripura along with two children have been arrested.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a search operation in the Kumarghat Railway Station area in Unakoti district on Sunday.
During the search, police detained the Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh camp.
During the investigation, it was revealed that they had entered Indian territory without any relevant documents through the Tilla Bazar area in Kailasehar. They were about to board a train for Kashmir via West Bengal, said Inspector Sankar Saha, Officer-in-Charge of Kumarghat Police Station.
Their intended destination was Sealdah in West Bengal, and from there, they had plans to travel to Kashmir, said police.
The arrested Rohingya women have been identified as–Anjuma (26), Ayesh Begam (22) and Nunaha (20).
They all are currently undergoing interrogation by the police, and subsequently, they will be forwarded to the court for legal proceedings.
A case has been registered regarding this incident under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Passport Act and 14 of The Foreigners Act.+
