In a massive boost to the Pawan Chamling-led Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party, more than 200 youths joined the party on Saturday in presence of the party president.

Welcoming the new party members, SDF Party President Pawan Chamling said, “SDF party is a party that runs under collective leadership. Our principles are dearer to us than life itself. Based on this principle of ours, you have also become leaders of collective leadership. With collective leadership comes collective responsibility. Therefore, you should take collective leadership as a collective responsibility and carry out the campaign to save Sikkim among the people.”

The new party members who joined SDF said that after seeing the anti-people, anti-Sikkim activities, and anti-Janatamara work of the present SKM government, more and more youths of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party were influenced by the “Save Sikkim Campaign” of the SDF party and decided to join the party.

SDF president Chamling, launching an attack at the Prem Singh Tamang-led SKM party, said that the peaceful, prosperous, and happy Sikkim built by the SDF party with great efforts for 25 years has been left in shambles and chaos by the current SKM’s four-year ‘directionless’ and ‘chaotic’ government.

Further attacking the SKM party, Chamling said that the rights, identity, and existence of the people of Sikkim and Sikkimese have been destroyed, adding that the wealth of Sikkim and Sikkimese people, land, the electricity industry, forest resources, and heritage are all handed over to outside capitalists.
