Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma today presented the state’s deficit-free Budget of Rs 16,387.21 crore for the 2018-19 fiscal.
The Budget outlay for the current fiscal has seen an increase of over 14 per cent, 14.62 to be precise. The government also proposed Cess on petrol and diesel of Rs 1.15 and Rs 1.13 respectively for development of roads in the state.
Dev Verma, who also holds the finance portfolio said his government is committed to provide the 7th pay commission to state government employees. It was informed that the government has made necessary budgetary provisions to meet the cost of the 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations.
Meanwhile, Dev Verma also said the first Budget of the BJP-IPFT government in Tripura is designed to boost growth of infrastructure and industry, and development of the health and education sectors.
A per the data made available, the expected collection of State’s own Tax revenue for 2018-2019 is Rs 1709 Cr while the expected collection of State’s Non Tax Revenue for 2018-2019 is Rs 281.36 Cr.
