Nagaland: Action Chairman of Tizit Area Students Union hacked to death by drug peddlers

In a shocking incident in Nagaland, the Action Chairman of Tizit Area Students Union (TASU), Ahoa Konyak, was hacked to death by suspected drug peddlers on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at Phantom Colony at Namsa Tizit in Nagaland’s Mon district.

Reportedly, three officials of the Tizit Area Students Union had gone to raid Phantom Colony after receiving information about drug peddlers present at the colony.

However, when the team reached the spot, they were attacked with a machete where Ahoa Konyak lost his life.

The attacker has been identified as Menshan Konyak, son of SS Maj Kapneyei of the NSCN K Yung Aung faction.

After the incident came to light, angry mobs burned down the house of the accused.

The accused has surrendered and is currently under police custody at Namsa Police Station.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Primary Health Care (PHC) in Namsa.

In the wake of the gruesome murder, TASU has ordered shut down in the Tizit Juridiction for 24 hours with immediate effect till May 26 to mourn the death of TASU Action Committee Chairman.

TASU has also asked for public’s cooperation.
