Assam Rifles rescues 45 visually impaired students and staff of Mission Blind School, Kakching

Heartwarming stories of compassion and bravery are emerging, highlighting the humane acts of the Army and Assam Rifles from trouble-torn Manipur that is gradually crawling back to normalcy.
One such remarkable rescue operation involved the safe evacuation of 45 visually impaired students and supporting staff from the Mission Blind School in Kakching.

Prompted by the urgent request of K Parenag Kom, Principal of Mission Blind School, an Internal Security column was swiftly launched by the Assam Rifles to rescue the stranded children and staff. With meticulous planning and unwavering dedication, the security forces successfully extricated the students and escorted them to the Kakching garrison on May 3.
Upon reaching the garrison, the visually impaired students and their dedicated staff were provided solace, nourishment, and shelter by the Assam Rifles. Recognizing the delicate situation and the need for immediate support, the security personnel went beyond their call of duty to ensure the comfort and well-being of the rescued individuals.
The heartening efforts of the Assam Rifles did not end there. In a commendable display of coordination and care, the security forces, in collaboration with the family members of the students, undertook the responsibility of reuniting these stranded children and staff with their loved ones. On May 13, dedicated columns were arranged, and the children were safely escorted back to their homes.
Principal Kom, along with the parents of the rescued students, expressed profound gratitude and appreciation for the Assam Rifles’ initiative. They acknowledged the exceptional efforts made by the security forces during these challenging times, emphasizing the critical role played by the Assam Rifles in ensuring the safe return of the visually impaired students and their dedicated staff.
