In a first of its kind, the Sikkim Public Service Commission has decided to allow all candidates who appeared for the preliminary examinations for Sikkim Services (Combined Recruitment), Examination 2022, to sit for the main examination as well.
The surprising move from the government came amidst allegations of malpractice in the conduct of preliminary examinations held on January 16, 2023. The SPSC has issued a notice directing all candidates who appeared in both sessions of the preliminary examination to submit their optional subjects on the official website of the Commission by May 27, 2023.
As such, to ensure transparency and equal opportunity for all candidates, the Commission has now decided to allow all who appeared in both sessions of the above examination to appear for the main examination. The date for the main examinations will be notified in due course.
The physical endurance test of the candidates who have applied for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police will be conducted after the completion of the main examination as per the ratio notified by the Commission.
Chief Coordinator of the Citizen Action Party, Ganesh Rai, has mocked the SKM government, stating that the move is proof that there are anomalies in the SPSC.
