A recent study comparing driving habits of countries around the world has surfaced and it suggests that Japan has the population with best driving etiquettes in the world followed by Nordic nations, whereas countries from southeast Asia have been on the other end of the spectrum.
In the study, India has been ranked fourth among countries with the worst drivers in a recent study conducted by insurance company Compare the Market. The study analyzed drivers from 50 countries and compiled lists of the best and worst drivers, based on a range of subjective factors including trends, traffic awareness, and traffic concerns. The study also considered objective factors such as posted speed limits, road conditions, and blood alcohol content levels.
According to the study, Thailand topped the list of countries with the worst drivers, followed by Peru and Lebanon. India received a score of only 2.34, while Japan, which was ranked as having the world’s best drivers, scored 4.57 points. The Netherlands was ranked second for having the world’s best drivers, followed by Norway, Estonia, and Sweden.
Incidents of rash driving and road rage have been on the rise in India in recent years, leading to concerns about road safety. The Indian government has taken steps to address the issue, including implementing stricter traffic laws and penalties for traffic violations.
However, experts believe that improving driver education and training, as well as investing in road infrastructure and technology, are crucial steps to reducing accidents and improving road safety in India. With India’s rapidly growing population and increasing number of vehicles on the road, ensuring safe driving practices and reducing the number of accidents is a top priority for the government and citizens alike.
While the study’s rankings may be subjective, they highlight the need for continued efforts to improve road safety and reduce incidents of reckless driving in India and around the world
