TMC candidate Richard M Marak will be up against Meghalaya CM and NPP Chief Conrad Sangma for the crucial South Tura seat
Meghalaya TMC candidate from South Tura Richard M Marak on Monday launched an attack on CM Conrad Sangma for his alleged inept governance and accused him of spreading false information.
Taking a jibe at the CM for listing the success stories of the NPP-led MDA government over the last 5 years, the Meghalaya TMC candidate alleged that many households in South Tura are deprived of drinking water.
“How could the CM take pride in saying that through the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, it connected 2.5 lakh plus households with water pipe connections from 4000 in 2018?”
“The reality is that the NPP government stands on a shaken ground between warfare of allegations of falsities regarding the JJM implementation. For instance, last year, in Rongjeng’s Imamsdrop village, the villagers were not only robbed of drinking water but the village Sordar of Imsamdrop had also accused the PHE department of tricking them into believing the project was completed. Many households in South Tura are also deprived of drinking water,” said Richard M Marak exposing the false claims of the Conrad Sangma-led MDA government.
The TMC candidate also raked up the recent violence in Phulbari and the contractual teachers protest in Shillong last year. Richard slammed the Meghalaya CM and accused him of falsely saying that he was committed to ensuring peace and tranquility in the state.
“CM has taken his false claims to a next level by saying he was committed to ensuring that peace and tranquility prevail in the state. The recent Phulbari clash where the NPP MDC was directly involved and the institutional attack on youth and teachers who protested for their rights peacefully in the streets paint the real story about CM Conrad Sangma.” said Marak
Meanwhile, referring to the current regime as ‘corrupt’, Richard said that it is not a proactive government attending to people’s needs, but a government that is extremely proactive only in corruption and scams.
Notably, TMC candidate Richard M Marak will be up against Meghalaya CM and NPP Chief Conrad Sangma for the crucial South Tura seat.
