Manipur: BRTF man injured in blast at Moreh along Indo-Myanmar border

A Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) personnel was seriously injured in a blast that occurred near the Indo-Myanmar Border Pillar 82.

The BRTF personnel of the 82RCC Battalion sustained injuries on his left leg, belly, shoulder, and face in the blast that occurred at around 9.45 a.m. on Friday.
The injured person was immediately rushed to a hospital in Moreh. His condition is stated to be critical, the sources said. He was identified as 35-year-old Jerom from Simdega District in Jharkhand.

According to sources, the bomb was planted by the People’s Defense Forces of Myanmar to protect themselves from the Myanmar Military Junta along the Indo-Myanmar border.It was one of the landmines that the PDF planted along the border as they were getting shelter in some areas of ‘No Man’s Land’ along the Indo-Myanmar Border.

It may be mentioned here that on Thursday at around 8.30 p.m., twin bomb blasts also occurred near a school at Namphalong market in Myanmar, which is a few yards away from Moreh, India’s last border town in the Manipur sector.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the Moreh Police Station, and an investigation is going on.
The Manipur government has been taking up security measures at the border to prevent the entry of illegal immigrants and the smuggling of drugs into the state, CM N Biren Singh said in a tweet.
