“The Trinamool Congres has bloomed in Meghalaya.” This is what TMC’s North Shillong candidate Elgiva Rynjah told newspersons today. Quite confident of putting up a good show in the 2023 poll battle, Rynjah believes that the TMC is not new in Meghalaya politics, but had earlier failed to penetrate due to lack of leadership. The TMC candidate drove home her point by referring that PA Sangma too had contested for the party before from the Tura seat.
Elgiva Rynjah while mentioning about the present Meghalaya TMC leadership said, “After we had all switched from Congress to the TMC under the leadeship of Charles Pyngrope, Mukul Sangma and all the elected representatives, we see the TMC has bloomed in Meghalaya.”
Terming that the road ahead was not an easy one, Eligiva Rynjah thanked the grassroot party workers, who have helped “the TMC bloom the way it is today.”
Rynjah harped on the issues of unemployment and also providing better oppurtunities to women when she was asked about her preparations in the run up to the polls. She added, “We will change the system of Meghalaya for the future generation.”
Well, Rynjah considers North Shillong to be a Hot Seat and does not see any advantage or disadvantage as far as she contesting the election is concerned. The TMC candidate maintained, “I dont take all my other aspiring candidates from the respective parties easily. We will fight the battle, and I hope the people’s mandate will be the right decision. I hope the people of our state and especially North Shillong constituency will elect a representative who has a voice, who can speak.”
Further, TMC candidate Rynjah said that contesting against her rivals gives her more energy. She said, “When we look at our constituency, being it a cosmopolitan one, we need representatives who can stand vouch for the people and easily accessed.”
