Despite the government sanctioning a fund of Rs 50 lakh for the restoration of the road, the road continues to be a nightmare for commuters.

Dilapidated road condition in Hayuliang in the Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh has become a major cause of concern for the locals.

Despite the government sanctioning a fund of Rs 50 lakh for the restoration of the road, the road continues to be a nightmare for commuters.

Team Northeast Live visited this remote part of Arunachal Pradesh and spoke to some of the locals in the area to know more about the matter.

Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, members of the Anti-Corruption Forum alleged the presence of a nexus consisting of government officials, contractors, and even politicians who have apparently misappropriated the funds.

The ACF has also alleged that only minor repair works had been done, while a major part of the road continues to be in a poor condition.

The ACF claims that the road was not constructed as per the required specification, thereby adding to the woes of the public.

As such, ACF members informed that certain documents which they have procured through RTI indicated large-scale corruption in the construction of the road.
