Arunachal: Pasighat Town gets its first-ever cultural hall

Local MLA Kaling Moyong inaugurated Pasighat’s first-ever cultural hall, which has been built at an estimated project cost of Rs 1.50 crore.

Pasighat, the headquarters of Arunachal’s East Siang district, has gotten its first-ever cultural hall.

Local MLA Kaling Moyong on Monday inaugurated Pasighat’s first-ever cultural hall, which has been built at an estimated project cost of Rs 1.50 crore.

Situated at Gidii Notkko in Pasighat town, the cultural hall was inaugurated in the presence of DC Tayi Taggu, PMC Chief Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, and Bogong Banggo Kebang president Oyem Dai.

Speaking at the inauguration, MLA Kaling Moyong hailed the cultural hall as a place where residents of Pasighat can now celebrate its own festivals besides hosting community gatherings, meetings, wedding ceremonies, and much more.

The MLA further appealed to the residents of Pasighat to make good use of the new cultural hall and appreciated those who were involved in making the project a reality.

It may be mentioned here that Pasighat’s first-ever cultural hall has been designed and executed by the Urban Development Department with a seating capacity of 1000.

Besides, the hall also houses a large stage where a troupe of more than 70-80 artists can easily perform.

The occasion was also marked by colorful traditional dances presented by cultural troupes from various communities in and around Pasighat.
