Meghalaya peace push: Safe passage for HNLC delegates

CM Sangma said that security will not be an issues even as eh hoped that the official talks will begin soon.
It may be mentioned that the HNLC had shot a letter seeking assurance on the safety of the delegation set to take part in the negotiations.
As per reports, a 5-member HNLC delegation may take part in the talks.
As per inputs three senior members of the outfit along with 2 personal security guards will be the part of the delegation.
Talks between the HNLC and the government had stalled after the death of Cheristerfield Thangkhiew last year. The peace efforts got a fresh push this year after HNLC appointed Sardon Blah as its new interlocutor.
It was only a few days ago that the Meghalaya government assured safe passage for the HNLC leaders coming to the talks table.
