BJP President Dr. Manik Saha & CPIM’s Bhanulal Saha file nomination papers for lone RS seat in Tripura

With the Rajya Sabha Elections in Tripura just round the corner, the ruling BJP and the opposition CPIM are on the war foot to submit their nominations just a day after announcing their candidates.

The BJP’s nominated candidate for the lone Rajya Sabha seat, Dr. Manik Saha today filed his nomination papers before the Returning Officer for the Rajya Sabha Polls, Suithuifru Mog.

BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidate for Tripura Dr. Manik Saha, who is also the State BJP President, was today accompanied by Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik apart from Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma. Talking to the media, after filing his nominations, Dr. Manik Saha said that he will try to serve the people in line with the objectives of his party. Dr. Saha further appealed to the allies to support him in the forthcoming Rajya Sabha Elections.

Meanwhile, the Left Front’s candidate for Tripura’s Rajya Sabha seat Bhanulal Saha also submitted his nomination papers today. Speaking to reporters, Saha who is also a sitting MLA and a former Minister of the state said that his nomination has been proposed by 13 sitting MLAs of the Left Front in the state.

On the other hand, Returning Officer Suithuifru Mog while talking to reporters said that he has received the nominations from the BJP and the Left Front today. He further said that 21st of March will be the last date for submission of nominations while scrutiny will take place on 22nd March for the elections and counting both taking place on 31st of March.
