ITBP’s solar push in Sikkim village, installs solar lamps at Ray in Upper Lingdum

In a bid to improve the mobility of villagers as well as to keep them safe from wild animals, the 13th Battalion of ITBP Lingdum has announced plans to install 31 solar street lights around Ray Village and Sama ward under Upper Lingdum in Sikkim.

The installation of the street lights was announced during a programme organised at the ITBP camp in Lingdum. Commandant Officer, Chandan Singh Bhandari, informed that 31 solar street lights will be installed in Ray Village, out of which 20 will be installed on the road leading to Ray Village and Ray Monastery and the remaining 11 street lights in Sama village under Upper Lingdum.

The day-long programme was attended by monks of the Ray Monastery, and villagers in and around the area. Alongside the program, a free health check-up camp was also organised, during which medicines were provided free of cost.

Addressing the gathering, CO Bhandari stated that under the Civic Action Programme, solar lights were being installed.
