The Konyak CSOs which includes the Konyak Union and Konyak Students Union among others, however, lauded the initiative of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy CM Y Patton for their initiative for AFSPA repeal.

The Konyak CSOs also appealed to the Central High-Level Committee members to have a humane approach in taking a call on AFSPA repeal. The release stressed that upholding human rights should be the topmost priority for the Committee.

Those members in the assigned committee should also be aware that people at ground Zero had enough of AFSPA, the release added.
