Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national Spokesperson and Nagaland MLA Mmhonlumo Kikon on Monday expressed hope that the party will comfortably win the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) elections.
Addressing a press conference in Mizoram, Kikon said, “We hope to form the government with the help of some independent candidate who supports us.”
Terming the Mizo National Front (MNF) as a true partner of the BJP, Kikon said that the party had won the 2018 elections with the BJP’s help.
BJP has maintained strong ties with the MNF under Zoramthanga’s leadership, he added.
Meanwhile, Kikon referring to the inter-state border dispute between Assam and Mizoram said that governments in the Northeast are all North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) partners and any dispute can be resolved amicably between the states.
Speaking on the issue, the BJP Spokesperson said all such issues will be resolved once the Naga peace accord is signed.
Kikon alleged that there was no communication between the states during the Congress rule.
