The Manipur BJP has strongly condemned the attack on its party workers in the State’s Singngat Assembly Constituency.
Talking exclusively to Northeast Live, the party in-charge for the by-elections Benjamin Mate said that his party is against any kind of violence and demanded that justice be delivered soon.
It may be mentioned that in the first incident of pre-poll violence, BJP workers were attacked at Lunmal village on Wednesday night. The incident took place when the BJP workers went to campaign for GS Haupu.
According to eyewitnesses, a group of around 50 miscreants attacked the BJP workers with sticks and other sharp objects.
The miscreants also pelted stones on the BJP workers. Several vehicles were also damaged during the attack. At least 4 vehicles were damaged and 7 party workers seriously injured following which they were admitted to district hospital.
