Tripura records 11 more positive COVID-19 cases, tally at 166

11 more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Tripura, taking the border state’s overall tally to 166. The fresh cases include 7 BSF personnel of the 86th Battalion, while 4 others are civilians.

Among the four civilians include 2 truck drivers who had come from West Bengal and travelled to Churaibari via Guwahati. Meanwhile the two other persons hail from Tripura and had returned the state from Guwahati.

However, all the 4 individuals were admitted to the Churaibari quarantine Centre at the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Churabari.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Chief Minister Biplab Deb informed that out of the 625 samples tested on Friday, 11 persons tested positive.

“625 samples have been tested for #COVID19 and among them, 11 persons found #COVID19 POSITIVE.

“7 people from 86-Bn BSF & 4 civilians from Churaibari Gate (2 drivers from other states, 2 people returned from Guwahati). All the POSITIVE patients are under proper medical care,” Deb tweeted.

It may be mentioned, 625 samples were collected out of which these 11 individuals have tested positive. This takes the total number of Covid cases in the state to 166.

Meanwhile the total number of active cases stand at 133 while 29 patients have recovered so far.

12,561 people have been tested for coronavirus across the state and 42, including the first case reported on April 6, have recovered so far.
