Arunachal NPP MLA, son among 11 killed in ambush

Sitting MLA of Khonsa West in Arunachal’s Tirap district Tirong Aboh was shot dead by suspected NSCN cadres along with his family members and NPP workers.

A total of 11 persons were killed in the ambush that took place near Bogapani and two others injured.

The NPP MLA’s son was also among those killed by suspected NSCN gunmen. A Personal Security Officer of the MLA escaped from the site while two PSOs were killed. Those killed include NPP workers and close family of Aboh. Police sources said the incident took place between 12.30 and 1 PM today.

The deceased MLA was in his newly purchased Fortuner SUV when unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate firing killing 11 people and injuring two others who were travelling in the four vehicle convoy.

It may be mentioned here that as per reports, the slain NPP MLA had received multiple threats from suspected NSCN cadres in the recent past.
