Good News For Panchayat Fans! Panchayat Season 5 Confirmed After Season 4 Breaks Franchise Records

It earlier bagged the Best Web Series (OTT) award at the 54th International Film Festival of India in 2023.

Prime Video and The Viral Fever (TVF) have officially confirmed that the much-loved series Panchayat will return for a fifth season, slated for release in 2026. The announcement follows the exceptional success of Season 4, which premiered on June 24 and recorded the highest opening in the show’s history.

Season 4 has not only captivated Indian viewers but also struck a chord with international audiences. According to Prime Video, the series trended in the Top 10 across more than 42 countries on launch day, including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and the UAE. In India, it was streamed across 95% of the country’s pin codes and topped trending charts nationwide during its first week.

Manish Menghani, Director and Head of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, expressed immense satisfaction with the response. “We are absolutely delighted with the phenomenal response to Panchayat Season 4,” he said. The show’s global reach across 180 countries has cemented its status as a cultural sensation.

TVF President Vijay Koshy highlighted the collaborative success with Prime Video. “It has been a truly extraordinary journey collaborating with Prime Video to bring Panchayat to life,” he shared.

Season 4 featured a stellar cast including Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, and Ashok Pathak, whose portrayal of Binod earned critical praise. India Today highlighted Pathak’s performance as a standout, particularly in emotionally charged scenes like the election results and dinner at Pradhan’s house.

Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and co-directed by Akshat Vijaywargiya, with writing by Chandan Kumar, Panchayat continues to win accolades. It earlier bagged the Best Web Series (OTT) award at the 54th International Film Festival of India in 2023.

Part of Prime Video’s Prime Day 2025 lineup, the fourth season’s record-breaking run has set high expectations for Season 5. Fans are now eagerly awaiting their return to Phulera in 2026.
