Who is Kishore Barman?
Kishore Barman’s political journey is an inspiring tale of dedication and perseverance. Hailing from a modest family in the Nalchar area of Sonamura subdivision, he pursued his higher education at Tripura University and completed his Master’s degree in Bengali literature in 2004.
A long-time RSS worker since his student days, Barman played a significant role in the BJP’s organisational success in West Bengal. Notably, he contributed to the party’s impressive performance in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in North Bengal. Recognising his efforts, the BJP leadership deputed him to Tripura for organisational duties.
In the 2023 Tripura Assembly elections, Barman was nominated for the Nalchar (SC) seat, which he won convincingly. His elevation to the state cabinet is being seen as both a recognition of his grassroots work and political acumen.
