Meghalaya’s Baghmara Hospital OT Begins Operations with Successful Delivery of a Baby Girl

Baghmara Civil Hospital, Meghalaya achieved a major milestone on Tuesday after a team of dedicated doctors, nurses, and support staff successfully performed the first surgery in the hospital’s newly upgraded Operation Theatre. The team delivered a healthy baby girl through an emergency C-section, marking a proud moment for healthcare services in the region.

Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma, took to X to congratulate the medical team for their remarkable effort and timely action. “Kudos to Dr. Susan Sangma, Dr. Presiana Shira, Dr. Ryan Sangma, and the entire team for their expert care and timely intervention that ensured a safe delivery. Your commitment is truly commendable,” he wrote.

The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of infrastructure development in rural healthcare. “It’s heartening to see how the upgradation of healthcare infrastructure is making a real difference in rural areas,” he added.

With this successful surgery, the hospital has taken a significant step forward in providing quality medical care to the people of South Garo Hills, Meghalaya.
