Assam Govt Signs MoU With BookMyShow To Host International Music Events

Assam Govt: This strategic collaboration aims to transform Assam into a premier destination for global concerts and live entertainment.
In a major boost to Assam’s cultural and entertainment landscape, the Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BigTree Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the parent company of BookMyShow, to host international music events in the state. The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati.
This strategic collaboration aims to transform Assam into a premier destination for global concerts and live entertainment. The Chief Minister hailed the partnership as a “new chapter” in Assam’s cultural journey and said it reflects growing confidence in the state’s ability to organise world-class events.
The agreement is expected to simplify event ticketing and enhance the overall experience for concert-goers, with BookMyShow acting as the exclusive platform for ticket sales.
Taking to X, CM Sarma wrote, “Ticketing made seamless! Assam is set to be the next big concert and events destination and the one-stop destination for all tickets will be @bookmyshow!”
Earlier, the Assam Cabinet approved the much-anticipated Concert Economy Policy, outlining the government’s vision to transform Assam into a key destination for large-scale music events.
As part of this new policy, Assam will host a mega concert in Guwahati this December, Grammy-nominated American artist Post Malone is scheduled to perform in Guwahati on December 8 aimed at putting the state firmly on the national and international music circuit.
“In December, there will be a mega concert in Guwahati, which will have healthy competition with our neighbouring state Meghalaya,” Sarma said.
