Act of Honesty: Mizoram Auto Rickshaw Driver Returns Rs 15 L Abandoned by Passenger, Widely Praised

An auto rickshaw driver in Lawngtlai has earned widespread appreciation for his exemplary honesty after returning a large sum of money left behind by a passenger.

Henry Lalhmingmuana, a member of the Lawngtlai Auto Rickshaw Owners Association (LAROA), on Friday found a bag containing over Rs 15 lakh in his vehicle after dropping off a passenger from Myanmar .The incident took place around 9:00 AM while Henry was driving his usual route from Lawngtlai Bazar to Husop Hotel, near the Assam Rifles Camp.

Realising the bag had been forgotten, Henry wasted no time. He drove straight back to the hotel where the passenger was staying and safely returned the cash. The act was later verified by both the passenger and hotel staff. This act of honesty of Henry has been widely praised.

LAROA released an official statement lauding Henry’s actions, stating that his honesty reflects the values the association strives to uphold. They have expressed pride in having a member with such integrity, adding that his conduct sets a shining example for others in the profession.
