The announcement was made on Wednesday through an official release issued by AICC General Secretary, K.C. Venugopal.

In a major organisational shake-up, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has appointed senior Congress leader and former Education Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Bosiram Siram as the new President of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), replacing veteran party leader and former Arunachal Chief Minister Nabam Tuki.

The party high command expressed deep appreciation for Nabam Tuki’s leadership and long-standing contribution during one of the most turbulent phases in the party’s history in the state. Tuki had helmed the APCC through periods of mass defections, organizational instability, and the political rise of the BJP in Arunachal Pradesh.

Bosiram Siram was elected as the Member of Legislative Assembly of 38-Pasighat East (ST) seat.He entered the assembly for the first time in 2004 and retained his seat in 2009 but suffered narrow defeats to BJP’s Kaling Moyong in both the 2014 and 2019 state elections. His elevation comes at a time when the Congress is making fresh attempts to revive its organizational strength in Arunachal Pradesh after years of electoral setbacks.
