The gruesome murder of Raja Raghuvanshi during his honeymoon in Meghalaya has shaken the country. As the Meghalaya Police continue to probe every angle of the case, a sensational revelation has now surfaced. Sonam Raghuvanshi, Raja’s wife and the prime accused was planning to elope with a mysterious third person after the murder. She had already purchased a flat in Indore for a fresh start with this man and no it’s not Raj Kushwaha.
It wasn’t Raja or even her alleged lover Raj that Sonam wanted to spend her life with. Sources now say she was planning to settle down with another man, Mayank Raghuvanshi.
About a year and a half ago, a marriage proposal was initiated between her and Mayank Raghuvanshi, son of businessman Harish Raghuvanshi of Nanewadi, Dhar district. The proposal was brought by Mayank’s maternal uncle, and the Horoscopes of both Sonam and Mayank were.
However, Mayank’s family decided to discuss with an astrologer and the astrologer said that this relationship would not last long, and this relationship could put them in a serious situation. After this, Mayank’s family rejected the marriage proposal and put a full stop to the marriage.
Now, after learning about Sonam’s involvement in the brutal killing of Raja, Mayank’s family has expressed gratitude for what they consider divine intervention. “If the marriage had gone ahead, it might have been Mayank lying dead instead of Raja,” a family member said.
According to investigators, Sonam masterminded the killing. She allegedly signalled her accomplices Raj, Vishal, Akash, and Anand to attack Raja in Sohra. During the recent crime scene reconstruction in Sohra, police confirmed that Sonam stood in front of Raja as he was struck three times with machetes first by Vishal Chauhan, followed by Akash Rajput, and finally by Anand Kurme.
Speaking to the media, East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem confirmed the attack sequence and added that the SIT visited multiple locations to piece together the details of the chilling murder.
