3 Teenage Boys Drown While Bathing in a Pond in Agartala, Tripura

In a deeply tragic incident, three teenage boys drowned while bathing in a pond located within the Agriculture Department premises in Matripalli area of Badharghat in Agartala, Tripura today.
The deceased persons have been identified as Boby Sukla Das, Subham Deb, and Suvajit Dey, all aged between 15 and 16 years and residents of the local area.
Bijoy Debnath, officer-in-charge of the AD Nagar police outpost, the boys had no idea how deep the pond was when they entered the water.
Locals pulled out one boy and taken in an ambulance to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Firefighters and police rushed to the scene launched a swift rescue operation and recovered the remaining two bodies.
“The pond is quite deep, and though the rescue efforts were swift, all three boys had already succumbed by the time they were found,” said Debu Datta, a fireman who led the recovery operation.
An investigation is underway to uncover the actual reason behind the deaths.
